Brief History

The model represents Norwegian stave church, a GOL. The church was built about 1212. About 1884, the building was moved to the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History. In the past, more than two thousand stave churches were built in Norway and the Gol is one of the last stave churches which survive to these days.
